Q: Compare the current Olympics to the original Olympics in your own words.

Athletics are a year round pursuit, but once every 4 years, athletes from all over the world compete together in one massive competition. From foot races to snow-boarding, long jump to figure skating, the Olympics only accept the best of the best—and they prove once and for all, whose the best of them all.
Today, ever since the first modern Olympics in 1896, any skilled athlete can compete in the olympics. In ancient Greece, where the tradition began cerca 776 B.C.E. only free men who spoke greek were allowed to participate.
Ancient Greece included multiple Olympic events that are no longer used, such as chariot races. Or wrestling, where fighters from all weight classes could fight dirty, so long as they refrained from biting or eyegouging. Greek Olympians also competed in many events completely naked!
If they won, ancient Greek competitors recieved crowns of olive leaves. Modern winners on the other hand receive gold, silver or bronze medals. The original Olympics were also heavily religious, involving the sacrifice of over 100 oxen to Zeus: while the modern Olympics don’t serve a religious purpose.
The Greek Olympic Games got their name from the city of Olympia, where the games were held. In modern times, different countries take turns hosting the Olympics and its considered a great honor to be the host country. 
The Olympics have changed dramaticaly since they began in ancient Greece, but at their core, they remain the same, the ultimate test of skill, and the greatest chance of athletic glory, that the world has to offer.
